One-day hiking activity in the province of Agios Vasilios in the neighboring prefecture of Rethymnon.

Route: The hiking will start from the village of Kanevos, located south of Rethymnon at an altitude of 438 meters, from where we will approach the foot of Mount Kouroupas and we will start to climb without a footpath to reach the summit in 1.001 meters. The view from there is amazing to both sides, to the south we see the entire coastline of the prefecture, the islands of Paximadia and the beaches of Drimiskianos sandy, Damnoni, Schinaria, Ammoudi, Plakias, Souda Plakias and to the northern many rural settlements. After a few minutes to enjoy the scenery, we will continue our course on the ridge (without a trail), but without any difficulty and in about 2.30 hours we will reach the point of the antenna where we will stop for rest. Then we will walk downhill on a rural road to the village of Koxare, where it will be the end of the route!
Hiking is of moderate difficulty lasting about 5 to 6 hours, participants must be in good physical condition, wear a mountaineering shoe and have a mountaineering baton, a windproof waterproof jacket, hot clothes, hat, food and water.
