Our tour starts a little before the ancient Zominthos above Anogeia (1.190 m.) on a dirt road for about 3 km to Agios Yakinthos. Then, following a path through a forest, we reach the local Roussa Lake, which took its name from the red color of the soil. There is the contemporary Russian Church.
Then we go to the bottom of the Zoniana gorge. The canyon is easily accessible with a gentle slope and impressive rocks. We reach Zoniana after 3.5 hours of walking in the gorge. We will cross the village for 20 minutes and reach the Sfendoni Cave from the most beautiful of Crete and those who want can visit it (entrance fee 5 € with a guide).
Then we will visit Anogeia for food and rest and possibly a Cretan afternoon with the sound from the funds of the great Vasilis Skoulas!
