Easy mountaineering activity to ascent this low summit in Sfakia province, with magnificent views of the plateau Askifou, the White Mountains and the surrounding area.

Route: A one-day mountaineering excursion, climbing to the east of the White Mountains, on the top of Mega Oros, 1,181 meters, in the province of Sfakia.
The approach to the area will be made by the neighborhood of Goni on the Askyfou Plateau, from where the hiking to climb, on an uphill path. The view from this imposing low top to the Askyfou Plateau, the whitewashed high peaks of the White Mountains, and the surrounding mountain range, is great. Participants must be in good physical condition, wear a mountaineering shoe and have a mountaineering jacket, a windproof waterproof jacket and warm clothes, gloves and a cap or hat, food and water.
